      Description

LSE-76 is the ICD for the DM to Summit Facility interface. This is an interface defining the physical requirements of DM at the Summit Facility. It is an interface between DM and Telescope & Site.

At present this appears to be limited to the rack space, power, and cooling required for the Summit-Base network endpoint. The rest of the Summit network is not formally a DM deliverable, though it is part of the integrated LSST network design described in LSE-78.

The completion of this milestone will reflect the conclusion of an agreement between DM and T&S on the details of the physical requirements, with these details added to LSE-76.

Added link to DLP-349 (re: LSE-78) because the DM summit facility interface is dominated by hosting the Summit-Base network endpoint.

My understanding is that the remaining work that might have been done on LSE-76 in Phase 3 has in practice been done (by the same people) in the development of LSE-299, "Summit Computer Room Requirements", which is being proposed for adoption under LCR-964.

I am marking this as "resolved" by the submission of LCR-964 and the request for approval of LSE-299, the Summit Computer Room Requirements document.

In my judgement this is "done" for earned-value purposes.

However, please do not mark this ticket as finally "closed" until LCR-964 has passed and an assessment has been done of whether LSE-76 should be retained on the books as-is, needs edits to conform to LSE-299, or should be retired.

I've linked it to LIT-383 to make this clear.
