This was resolved yesterday by a quickfix that was merged directly to master during the roll back of blueocean 1.4.0 on DM-13413.
End users are essentially not use the jenkins classic UI any more, so completely removing the usage of the ansicolor plugin resulted in color codes appearing in the BO console display. However, it appears that there may be a formatting problem the results in extra lines being colorized after a reset sequence.
