Description
Sometimes we can produce decent templates, but the linear combination of templates used for the footprint sometimes don't look as good as the templates. We should try using just the template for the footprint.
This will leave orphaned flux; probably we just want to drop this on the floor, but Dustin was wary of that and had various prescriptions for dealing with it so we should think about it.

I think Bob Armstrong misunderstood (probably because I didn't completely understand RHL's proposal when I wrote the description) this as describing the process to remove degenerate templates, which is indeed deactivated by default. This ticket is supposed to refer to the apportioning of flux, where we solve for the linear combination of templates. The proposal is to simply use the templates without any apportioning of flux.

Yusra AlSayyad is this ticket still relevant given scarlet? Are there other component=meas_deblender tickets that should be closed?
Bob Armstrong reports that the linear combination is turned off. That may make this work a no-op.
