Description
Currently, the Firefly unit tests that involve image inputs appear to be based on existing IPAC holdings, such as WISE images.
It would be useful for the unit tests to include at least basic tests of the ability to work with LSST images. I would suggest perhaps four for the time being: (1) a single-epoch and (2) a coadd image output from the public HSC processing, ideally following the implementation of RFC-378 and DM-12599, (3) an LSST Camera Test Stand 8 raw image, and (4) a PhoSim amplifier image.
Eventually, connecting this to RFC-243, we should have a way of performing end-to-end tests that allow us to verify on a nightly or weekly basis that our ability to process the pipeline outputs has not been compromised by a change in either the generation or the re-ingest of the images.
