When performing analysis for LDM-503, Tim Morton [X] noted:

8766 + 8767, HSC-I, small but systematic astrometric mismatch with refcat, but only for visits <=7386 (seems to go away--or at least get smaller--for more recent ones) (don’t see in 8767, which only has >= 11442)

Investigate and explain.
