Fix Version/s: None
The calexp exposures in validation_data_decam have TPV distortion terms in HDU 0, which should have been stripped (and probably are when using the current master of the DM stack). In addition they have the expected SIP distortion terms in HDU 1. Thus it is possible that some FITS readers will read the WCS as having both TPV and SIP distortion terms.
Please reprocess the calexp (and all other processed files, for consistency). The current DM stack properly strips the TPV terms when generating calexp exposures, so that should take care of the problem.
Russell Owen I believe this is fixed as of the updates to the validation_data_* in preparation for the v16.0 release.
I've inspected the files and see only SIP terms in the validation_data_decam/data/calexp files. Can you confirm? Go ahead and close this ticket if you're happy now.
I looked at the headers of some of the calexp on master and I found no PV terms. Thank you for fixing this.
The current literal processing of this data set by v14.0 results in only 3 out of 9 CCDs (10-18 are the current ones being used in this testing reference set) processed for visit 1768367. icSrc catalogs are generated, but the matching fails for 6 of the CCDs for this visit.
I'm planning to do a literal update of what validation_data_decam looks like for processing with v14_0 in
DM-13204. But I anticipate that there might be some further discussions of getting those other CCD processing to generate calexps before we complete this present DM-13201.
