      Description

      See DM-12931, which describes the problem and implements a workaround.  A proper solution could be quite a bit more difficult, but is definitely desirable, as we're currently mislabeling masked pixels and probably dropping quite a few pixels we could be keeping.

            I'm just going to Won't Fix this.  It hasn't ever been a priority for anyone on the HSC side, which has even less effort available than it did when this ticket was created, and many other things we'd like to spend it on.
