We would like to have a DataTables like Search over table option in Firefly.

Jeff gave me a demo of the feature. It actually is more like a "hot filter" on all columns. As user types in the "hot filter" input field, the table is filtered instantly. Since Firefly filtering operation is done in the server side, the performance will be degrading for large table. Besides, this kind of filter treats all data as strings.
I think Firefly current filter function is good enough.

After discussion at CCB, we agreed that this ticket will only address the search/filter across all the columns issue.

This ticket was transferred to the in-house system at https://jira.ipac.caltech.edu/browse/FIREFLY-38 .
It is still on the long-term to-do list for Firefly, but at a low priority, and is unlikely to be addressed in the next year. It is also not responsive to any Rubin requirement (it was always primarily NED-driven), so I am closing this as Won't Fix.
Gregory Dubois-Felsmann — is this ticket still relevant following the SUIT descope? I think it is describing off-project development of Firefly, so I am inclined to simply close it as won't fix.
