Regions appear on subsequent afw Displays with Firefly backend

      Description

      When symbols are overlaid on an afw.display.Display with the Firefly backend, subsequent mtv commands will have the regions layer from the first display also overlaid. This regions layer is not removed by using erase.

          In Firefly there are default overlays that are carried over to new image displays. Cindy Wang [X] found an option in show_fits that can be used to turn off this behavior in the Firefly backend of afw.display.
