Description
See Slack channels #dm-pdac-nagios and #dm-lsp for today, 29 June.
On Monday 2 July 2018, preferably during NCSA working hours, please rename the current #dm-pdac-nagios channel on Slack to #dm-pdac-monitor (in parallel construction with the #dm-lspdev-monitor channel requested in IHS-1177) and verify that the Nagios and Grafana monitoring services' messages continue to appear on the channel.
If the renaming somehow interferes with that, an IHS ticket may have to be filed to reset the output streams of the monitoring systems.
Assigned to Fritz Mueller because he is the channel creator. Presumably anyone with the right Slack admin privileges could also do this, though?
Everything old is new again.
We're in the process of (mostly) retiring the "PDAC" name (except for specific cases where we want to expose an instance of the LSP to outside users as a literal "Prototype DAC" for review).
It has been suggested that this now provides two reasons to rename #dm-pdac-nagios.
(Or it may be simpler to do by creating a new channel and gradually migrating the old messages over, if the message-publishers are using the channel name rather than an invariant GUID for the channel.)
After some discussion on the channel there is no consensus on the timing of this change, so I'm going to just ping this old ticket and leave it to T/CAMs to sort out as a priority.
