Capture Bootcamp documentation on pipelines.lsst.io

    Details

      Description

Back in October of 2015, we held a “bootcamp” which provided an introduction to working with the Pipelines codebase.

The bootcamp materials are linked from https://community.lsst.org/t/dm-boot-camp-announcement/249 and are available at https://github.com/lsst-dm/Oct15_bootcamp.

While some of this material is old, there's still a bunch of useful information in here. Ideally, we would mine these presentations and use them to write fresh, updated text which could be included in the documentation at pipelines.lsst.io. In practice, a concerted effort to do that is outside our short-term budget. However, it would be great to make sure this material is clearly signposted from pipelines.lsst.io, with some caveat about it being old.

Jonathan Sick, do you have any suggestions about the best way to go about doing this? I'm happy to do the work, but would like to make sure it fits with your ideas.

Great idea. Can I chew on this a bit and see what our next cycle planning looks like?
