There are some easy gains we can make that will improve the size, usability, and build-times of the lsst-texmf Docker image:
- Remove GaiaAcr.jar and acronyms.csh from the lsst-texmf repo since they're replaced by generateAcronyms.py
- No longer install the JRE and csh shell in the lsst-texmf image. Also, don't update Ubuntu packages in the lsst-texmf image build. Move that responsibility to the underlying lsstsqre/lsst-texlive image.
- Change the lsstsqre/lsst-texlive to a Python official image base so that we can get a specific distribution of Python (like Python 3.7).
- Change lsst-texmf so that it uses a fixed base of the lsst-texlive image.
Overall this should make for a small, faster to build, and more cacheable lsst-texmf image.
