      Description

The interpolation of MERRA-2 3-D AOD tables at LSST site is complicated by the orography of the Andes : data eastward of the site coordinates are not going down to the altitude of the telescope. A reliable extrapolation of the AOD has to be determined.

          Problem solved :

the strong variability of the AOD is connected to the transition between the ocean and the Andes. at a given altitude, the mean level and variability are ~3time higher above lands.
