      Description

      Still need to add multiple estimates of alert packet size based on scientific considerations, e.g Min/max, single-detection alerts vs long histories, new SN alerts vs new alerts on already alerted Variable stars, distributions in alert packet size for say extragalactic visit vs galactic plane visit.

            We discusseed this at the 2021-06-14 DM-SST meeting. It's not a current priority. The history estimates in DMTN-104 provide a worst-case sizing estimate, and without a large simulation study it would be difficult to capture the range of detection histories expected for LSST depth and populations. (Current precursor datasets are short and shallow with respect to LSST steady state.)
