Determine reason for large HSC-RC2 vs. Gaia astrometry residuals

      Description

During the DM acceptance test campaign (and, in particular, when testingĀ LVV-T40), a number of HSC-RC2 images (i.e., visit/filter/CCD combinations) yield large astrometric residuals when comparing LSST stack positions vs. Gaia DR2. The reason for the large residuals is not clear, so we need to explore whether it is due to deficiencies in DM algorithms, or is simply related to specific images or selection of matched stars. Some preliminary investigation was done in test_LVV-T40_T1240.ipynb, but a more careful examination is needed.
