      Submitting async queries through POST- need to be able to specify location of results, type of results

            I would think that the location and type (assuming this refers to something like a file format) of the query results should be determined when the results are accessed, not at query time. This should also allow query results to be shared across multiple queries and even users (provided they have compatible authorization).

            I can see where you are going with that. Yes we will have default location and default format. I was thinking that we will have cases when user will want to overwrite where the query results go and what format the results are in. For example, if someone runs a very expensive query and wants results in a non-default format in a non-default location, do we want to save it in default format in default location and then do the conversion on the fly? What if user makes special arrangements and gets special volume for storing her unusually large query results - do we still want to go via default location?

            User result caching (including file format specification) to be addressed at the IVOA layer. Qserv asynchronous query support implemented via SUBMIT/SELECT FROM qserv_result().
