      Description

      The linearity unit tests have severely bit-rotted.  They are currently split between linearizeSquared.py and linearizeLookupTable.py, and are inconsistent on what tests they run.  I've started a rework as part of DM-23985, but this deserves a dedicated ticket to ensure everything is treated identically.
