Description
Currently there exist SV packages that are more oriented toward metric calculation (faro) and visualization (pipe_analysis). We need to develop an improved understanding of the relationship between metric calculation, visualization, and drill-down capabilities and how these map onto the tools in development.
One possible solution could be (optionally) storing sufficient data alongside metrics (e.g., extras in lsst.verify Measurement objects) to allow flexible visualization later on.
I feel that analysis_drp and faro should use the same code to calculate quantities so that the metrics and plots are directly associable. Jeff and I discussed that using some meta data from faro and the action frame work we can potentially autogenerate yaml files to make plots with exactly the same points as the metric used.
