          Ah, is the issue here that if you can't use a 2.3 galsim with a stack built with 2.2? Because the new version does work with a fresh build of the stack.

          A new rubin-env will not work with older eups distrib binaries, and an old rubin-env will not work with newer eups distrib binaries.

          The former is likely to be experienced by users; the latter occurred last night as the stack container uses a frozen base container with rubin-env along with newly-built binaries.
