            This is also a problem on macos with lsstsw: the build will not complete unless the windows are closed, which means it's basically impossible to build a new stack.

            In the meantime, does it work if you do export MPLBACKEND="Agg" before the build?

            Eli Rykoff: that did work, though I got a "do you want to allow python3 to accept incoming network connections" dialog box when spectractor started building.
