Change coaddName template default to goodSeeing

    XMLWordPrintable

Details

    Description

Our ApPipe pipeline overrides now all consistently use coaddName="goodSeeing" (which AP has settled on as their preferred flavor of coadd), but all of the task Connections still default to "deep". For consistency, and to make those overrides unnecessary, we should change the coaddName default template to "goodSeeing" everywhere that it is relevant for difference imaging.

krzys brought up an interesting point in the slack thread that we may want to keep the coaddName parameter in our pipeline yaml files just to make it easier to override in the future. I'll have to think about whether there's a better approach that means we don't have to override a default with the same value in ApPipe.yaml, etc.

Just to be clear, none of the tasks in question are used by DRP, right? I noticed you very specifically said that we prefer goodSeeing.

Note that in the comments on RFC-971, DRP agrees with this proposal. There are a couple of implementation details from comments by Yusra on that RFC that we should pay attention to on this ticket.
