Kian-Tat Lim I created a pull request on daf_persistence; seeing the diffs was useful to me. As noted in the comment on that pull request, I need to do a little cleanup and write some documentation. I also realized there's one more test I ought to write. But if you want to spend any time on this by yourself or with me tomorrow in our wednesday meeting, I think it would be helpful.

work is coming along very well on this. got a first pass up for review. Repository implementation is somewhat refactored now, and I am tuning the recursion algorithm per a conversation with @ktl. This story has a 'part 2' DM-4683 and I'm on track to complete this in that.
