      Description

From Jim Bosch's technical debt list:

Need maintainer to oversee obs_ package consistency and code reuse in defining ISR, calibration products generation, and reading raw data. Should take at least partial ownership of CameraMapper.

Locally-reasonable decisions have led to bad overall design, difficult entry for new cameras.

My best guess is that this is 0.25 FTE, ongoing.

Mario Juric, Jacek Becla, etc — we need to decide who is responsible for obs_decam in order to make progress. Can you please call this?

Sorry – I didn't realize this discussion was ongoing.

I thought the agreement at the October meeting was that UW was responsible for obs_decam, by virtue of UW using it for testing of diffim. If Simon Krughoff or Andrew Connolly do not object strenuously, consider that to be the decision.

Is the statement above assigning responsibilities of each obs_* package to teams sufficient to close this ticket or do we need to put this agreement in a more formal location?

For my money, the above is sufficient with the caveat that we still haven't clarified the status of obs_monocam. I don't think it's either required for use within DM or for delivery to an external stakeholder, so I'm uncomfortable with having the name "Princeton" attached to it above.

General issue is now in the product list. Specific obs_monocam is a red herring.
