      Description

Email Paul Price and Dominique Boutigny for data that fails astrometric matching.

Copied data to LSST-dev and ready it for processing.

Failure modes have been collected and run. When using GAIA the DECam Hits (visit: 303497) data and CFHT D3 data(visits: 793169, 980526, 896070) all pass with the current LSST matcher.

For the HSC New Horizons data(visit: 3358) the large majority of the CCDs fail to find a match and fail immediately. A few CCDs find a match but the solution yields a scatter of greater than 1 arcsec(ccds: 23, 68, 79). A few other ccds with a lower density of objects that are attempted for matching(~2000 sources) succeed in matching to the GAIA catalog. They are ccds: 108, 110, 111.

Email sent. Waiting on response from Dominique and possible public status of HSC data. Some HSC commissioning data can be found on lsst-dev in /lsst3/HSC.

I now have Domonique's failing CFHTLS field copied to my directory and running. Waiting on catalogs from HSC and still need to attempt to match with HSC commissioning data on /lsst3/.

Moved the CFHT data into my own directory and have it, the HSC data, and the DES running with both versions of the code. For now do I enough to close this ticket out?

I think so. Will you please write up a note in this ticket to describe the failure modes of each dataset and the specific data you are using (i.e. pointing, ccd, visit, filter, etc). At that point, I think we can close it.

Where should I put the note. Here?

Finished collecting data and finding failures. Added failures and successful data to the ticket description. Several previous failures of the matcher in CFHT data were fixed by using stars from GAIA as the reference catalog.
