I got about half-way through the wrapping before finding out that this package will be retired within two weeks. There seems little point to wrapping it with pybind11.

Nothing. I was told to drop that package, since it doesn't make sense to have three messaging systems. The only reason it's been around still is that I haven't gotten to replace what it did in ctrl_orca, which is the only package that uses it. The functionality ctrl_events provided will be replaced with a very simple REST API. The ctrl_events package has an appender for lsst.log, but no one uses that so that's not an issue. The package will be moved to legacy.

        • and apologies to Russell Owen for not seeing this ticket sooner.
