Status: Not Covered
This is not meant to test the scientific accuracy of the results, but rather the ability to undertake such studies. It will be considered successful if the steps can be completed, and produce "reasonable" results (e.g., that the proper motion comparison shows agreement, in general).
1. A user can identify cool dwarfs (L, T) through their colors and proper motions by cross-matching data across surveys? [2MASS, DES, SDSS, WISE, Gaia]
i) Identify brown dwarfs in WISE data through matching to SDSS colors.
ii) Then verify by comparing to the proper motion between 2MASS and WISE.
iii) Check to see if original catalog matching may have missed sources because of the observed proper motion base on the limits of the proper motions of objects that
have been properly matched.
iv) Identify new brown dwarfs by matching WISE to DES.
v) Compare to proper motion catalog from Gaia
