It would be nice for LDM-564 to say something about versions and releases of the LDF systems and software as well as products delivered from the rest of DM, even if that's just to say that particular versions will be designated as part of the release process.

I agree but I can not see getting it by Monday do you ?
Draft of both are fine to go as baseline - I am done with them for now.

I understand the desire to have these refreshed for September, but I'm concerned by the lack of review and speed with which the foundational DM docs are being baselined.

Is there a summary of what's changed and why?

The document change record gives an overview for LDM-294 (and there were pull requests):

          • Update CCB and SE groups.
          • Add Science Platform Scientist.
          • Add section on design reviews.

LDM-564 is a brand new document. The document deadline was Monday August 21st. LSST2017 made things a bit tight.

I understand the deadline pressures, but I'm still concerned when the Subsystem Scientist isn't consulted (or even aware until after the fact) of changes being made to foundational DM documents. It goes agains the process and expectations. It also makes it possible to introduce mistakes that aren't discovered for awhile.

We should try to avoid this going forward.
