Description

We are not using the skypix package for anything at this time and it relies on lsst.geom, a package that has been superseded by lsst.sphgeom. I propose to retire the skypix package.

To be clear: it is still being used in a few obs packages in order to generate entries the data repository registry file, but those entries are used for obsolete dataset type "skytiles". ~~DM-13727~~ implements this RFC and shows how little code is affected.
